Located in the beautiful East Sikkim region, under Rongli sub-division, this place is known for its beauty and nature. It is located at the edge of Himalayas and one can reach here by having short drive of four hours from Gangtok either via Rangpo and Pakyong.
This place is isolated from the rest of the state of Sikkim and most importantly is bounded by Mount Kanchendzonga. In fact, along with natural beauty here you will also find lush green forest, mountains and the lake. See the nearby monastery and the traditional villages.

How to Reach Aritar
- By Air — The nearest airport is Bagdogra. After reaching Bagdogra, you need to hire a car to reach Aritar in about 4 hrs.
- By Rail — Nearest station is New Jalpaiguri which is well connected with al major parts of the country. From NJP, you need to hire a car to reach Aritar.
- By Road — Aritar is 104 km from Siliguri and can be reached in 4 hrs via Rongpo.

Aritar Temperature:
- Summer (Apr to May) – Temperatures are mild and range between (15°C) to (22°C)
- Monsoon – (Jun to Sep) – Regular rainfall happens. This is not a good season for tourists
- Winter – (Oct to Mar) – Temperatures are low and range between (8°C) to (21°C)
- Best Time to Visit – April to May and Oct to Dec are the best season for tourism
